SMAW and GMAW T.E.S.D.A.

SMAW and GMAW skill training

I've been watching Discovery Turbo episodes and it inspired me to take some training on SMAW(stick metal arc welding) and GMAW(gas metal arc welding), took some training class at Diversified Corporation training center, one of TESDA accredited training center.... its a 2 months training, 2 weeks lecture and the rest are hands-on...

I did all sort of exercises, 1f to 4f fillet welding and 1g to 6g groove welding, pipe is the hardest especially the 6g position, its a back breaking position!....

Heres a video clip of a buddy of mine working on the pipe, preparing it again for our SMAW skill evaluation, we kind a mess it up so we had to redo it again.... we were working on a 6g welding position.

In this clip we are practicing gmaw, doing some flat, horizontal and vertical weld beads on the plate.... so far, compared to smaw, gmaw is alot better, its easy to stroke some weld beads... we are using miller brand, forgot the model, but its heavy duty industrial type....

In this clip is our instructor Sir Nelson, giving some demos to the other guys who are having some difficulty with vertical weld....

Heres a video of me doing some vertical weld, i even bought my own auto-dark welding helmet, i was having some difficulty using the ordinary welding helmet....

Below is our last day, we've decided to take some pics before we all part ways.....
